Back to Miami and Deso resigns
September 21st, we see a bubble at one of her incisions and we are headed to Miami for a more in-depth check of the fluid. Bradley is enjoying the Laver Cup in Chicago with former college teammate Riley. I year ago I could have stayed longer in Prague due to hurricane and actually seen the first Laver Cup myself. Now, I’m walking to the hospital cafeteria and I get a text and call from Jose and he’s asking me if Deso is going to play in pro league. Yes, he’s probably just waited to the last second to sign up. I open my email, as I’m always on the job and there it is. Deso has resigned. Omg! We’d talked about it for the not so distant future, but now it’s happened. I can still see he and Rochelle waving as they pass me by in the car before their trip over. They sold their house and he’s always trading cars, but I guess I was caught off guard. He’s had two trips this summer with the latest being a month in Bulgaria. Season is going to start in one week and not only am I doing all the maintenance, but preseason preparation as well. I’m always the work machine and don’t miss a beat. Did I say I didn’t get a raise again this year! Never even a cost of living increase. I’ve mentioned many times we need a full-time maintenance person. I have two guys that would love to do that and they are only interested in part time. Can my supervisors see the logic? No, they cannot see the logic, but it’s because we are just robots with numbers. They can now eliminate Deso’s position and use that money elsewhere. September 24, they have a change of plans with Halia and will go in and take her pacemaker and hardware out as it is likely infected. She will be on a temporary pacemaker until the infection is gone, likely 2 weeks and then put in another pacemaker. They say 3 weeks at the hospital.
